Position Overview:
54ward provides integrated touch screen and voice control of emergency vehicle equipment (warning lights, sirens, radios, radar, etc). Most of 54ward’s products interact with a police/fire department’s existing equipment. The role of the Application Engineer is to work with the customer, installation technicians, sales and engineering staff to properly configure and deploy the products to meet individual customer’s needs. In addition the Application Engineer also works as part of the engineering team to enhance existing and develop new products.

This position is based in our Farmingdale, NY facility. Travel will be required to handle on-site support at additional installation facilities in the metro NY area. From time to time overnight travel throughout the US may be necessary.

Key Tasks:
Configure, customize and oversee deployment of systems in the metro NY area
Develop applications to interface with various 3rd-party hardware and software products.
Help maintain applications currently deployed in emergency vehicles throughout North America.
Assist sales staff with technical sale issues
Debug and fix bugs escalated from support staff.
Assist in technical documentation for support staff

Requirements:
Experience in programming with C/C++
Working knowledge of C#
Strong troubleshooting skills
Flexibility to travel
Strong communication skills
Knowledge of 12 volt systems would be helpful
